Life Update and Weekend Travels

Halloween catfight was a success! Sheila and I had a lot of fun dancing around and bar-hopping. Hopefully we'll be able to reenact similar good times in Boston this weekend!

Hello my beloved blog followers!

This weekend, I'm traveling to Boston to celebrate a friend's birthday so I may not be able to post as consistently. Hopefully it'll be a great way to recharge so I can have some more lively content upon my return. As I've mentioned ad nauseam, I've been feeling pretty bummed out lately. Here's hoping that a change of scenery will reignite my excitement for the present!

As I announce my brief hiatus, I thought this could be a good opportunity to report in on what I've been up to in terms of my job search lately since that seems to be the only thing anyone I ever talk to is interested in!

I recently had an interview for a data analyst position at a software company, but they decided to go with a different candidate. I'm honestly kind of relieved about that since after the interview I could tell I would not be happy in a corporate desk job, even though I would have finally made it off of the island.

Meanwhile, I'm still writing and editing for Better After 50 which is a lot of great experience even though it's been stressful at times. I'm also working as an assistant for a woman who breeds Australian shepherds and does fine gardening. That's been a ton of fun! I love getting to hang out with her awesome pups and spending time outside. If I don't lock down anything in Boston soon, I'll be pup-sitting for her for the month of February and she'll be flying me out to their house in Hawaii for a week to pay me! Not the worst back up plan if you ask me.

Yeah, city life might not be for me.

One reason I really want to hightail it to the city is so that I can start doing comedy shows again. That was something I totally fell in love with my last year at Colgate, and my friends keep encouraging me to try my hand at stand up in the "real world." Considering the many terrible professional comedy shows I've witnessed, I think I might have a decent shot at having some moderate success in the comedy world, but there's only one way to find out.

I recently had a distant acquaintance message me to tell me how much they enjoyed my most recent set from homecoming at Colgate. That meant so much to me! Check it out for yourself and send compliments my way if you want; I won't mind.

Anyway, this weekend I'm looking forward to seeing some friends and enjoying their company. On Sunday we'll be doing an Escape Room, which I'm so excited for. I'll definitely be reporting back on that!

In the meantime, I'm going to get back to watching the second season of Stranger Things! Who woulda thunk that this show was so awesome? Oh, everyone? My bad.

If you have any recommendations for things to do in Boston, send them my way!
